Hello! I'm Cole, a former Bay Area startup founder turned researcher, building new systems to process the world's oldest texts.
- I've spent the past decade crafting data annotation interfaces in various domains. I believe that an investment in establishing a foundation of good data is repaid many times over in the long run.
- These days I'm focused on processing the 400,000+ extant cuneiform texts, a corpus which bears witness to three millennia of human civilization, beginning with the birth of writing itself.
- I'm currently at Oxford mastering the Akkadian, Sumerian, and Elamite languages. I begin DPhil research in October 2026.
- Previously, I was Co-founder & CTO at AbstractCRE, a platform for extracting & analyzing structured data from commercial real estate legal docs, and studied Symbolic Systems at Stanford.
